Recent wasp and bee jobs, filmed on site
Our own technicians on real wasp and bee callouts across Melbourne and Geelong. These are wasp and bee jobs, which is exactly the work this page covers.
Want the same done at your place? Book a licensed technician.
How does wasp nest removal in Melbourne actually work?
The whole job is the nest. Wasps in your kitchen are foragers, and killing them changes nothing while the colony keeps producing more, so a technician follows the flight line back to the nest first. It is then treated at the entry point, which matters: wasps that were out foraging return to a treated nest and carry it inside, so the colony goes down rather than splitting and rebuilding nearby. A nest in a wall cavity or roof void is treated through the hole the wasps use, never by cutting the cavity open, because opening a live nest is how people get stung badly. Once the colony is dead we take the nest down where it can be reached. Call 0436 389 114 for a free quote, seven days.

European, paper or mud wasp?
Three wasps turn up at Melbourne houses and they are not equally dangerous, so the identification changes both the urgency and the price.
You can usually tell from the nest itself before anyone comes out.
- European wasp. Bright yellow and black, flies a straight line, and goes for meat and sweet drinks. Nests are hidden: a wall cavity, a roof void, a compost heap or a hole in the lawn. This is the aggressive one and the one that stings repeatedly.
- Paper wasp. Slimmer, browner, with a small open comb hanging under an eave, a pergola or a bush. Far less aggressive, but it will defend the nest if you walk into it.
- Mud wasp. Hard mud tubes on brickwork and under eaves. Barely aggressive, but the nests stain walls and block weep holes.

Send us a photo of the nest and we will identify it.
Wasp Nest Removal Melbourne: what the job covers
Wasp control is a nest job. Everything below is aimed at the colony rather than the insects you happen to see.
Finding the nest, not just the wasps
Wasps in the kitchen mean a nest within about 50 metres. We follow the flight line back to it, because treating the insects you can see achieves nothing.
Treatment at the entry point
The nest is treated where the wasps go in and out, so returning foragers carry it through the colony rather than regrouping somewhere new.
Nests in wall cavities and roof voids
Treated through the entry point and left to die down rather than opened up. Cutting open a live nest in a wall is how people get stung badly.
Physical removal where it is safe
Once a nest is dead we take it down where it can be reached, so it does not stain a ceiling or attract beetles and moths into the cavity.
European wasps reported properly
European wasp nests are aggressive and often underground. We treat them and tell you what your council wants to know.
A written record
Where the nest was, what was used, and what to watch for. Useful for a landlord, an agent or a body corporate.
Nest located, treated and removed in one booking.

European Wasp Removal Melbourne: why this one is urgent
If the nest is a European wasp nest, treat it as urgent rather than something to deal with on the weekend.
A European wasp colony defends itself in numbers and each wasp can sting more than once, so a nest near a back door, a clothesline or a childrens play area is a genuine risk rather than a nuisance. Numbers build through summer and peak in autumn, which is when most of these calls come in.
They also nest out of sight. A hole in the lawn, a compost bin, a gap in the brickwork, or a roof void, which is why people often find them by mowing over one.
- Never block the entrance. A blocked colony chews a new way out, often into the room on the other side of the wall.
- Do not pour petrol or boiling water into a ground nest. It does not work and it brings the colony out at once.
- Keep children and pets away from the flight line until it is treated.
- Tell us if anyone in the house has reacted badly to a sting before.
Think it is a European wasp nest? Call us and we will prioritise it.
Wasp Nest In Wall Cavity: treating without opening the wall
Some of the worst nests are the ones nobody can point at. The wasps go in through a weep hole, a gap in the mortar or under a piece of flashing, and the nest itself sits inside the cavity.
The wrong response is to open it up. A live nest in a wall, opened from the inside, puts a defensive colony into the room with you.
We treat through the entry point instead and leave the nest to die down in place. Where it needs to come out afterwards, that is a far safer job once the colony is dead.
- Entry point identified from the outside, not guessed at.
- Treated through the hole the wasps already use.
- Cavity left closed while the colony dies down.
- Removal afterwards where the nest can be reached safely.
Wasps disappearing into a wall? Do not open it, call us.
From your call to a dead nest
No surprises, and no price that changes once we are on site.
Call and describe what you are seeing
How many wasps, where they are going in, and whether anyone has been stung. That decides how urgently we need to be there.
We locate the nest
Following the flight line back to the eave, the deck, the wall cavity or the hole in the lawn. The nest is the job, not the wasps in the kitchen.
Fixed price before we travel
Quoted on what you describe, confirmed before anyone leaves, and it does not change when we arrive.
Treatment, then keep clear
We treat at the entry point and tell you how long to stay away from that part of the yard, usually a few hours.
Removal and a check
Once the colony is dead we take the nest down where it is reachable and check nothing has started again nearby.
Every step above runs on a fixed price, quoted before we travel.
Wasp Nest Removal Cost Melbourne: what changes the price
There is no single number, because a nest under a low eave and a nest inside a second storey wall are not the same job.
What we can promise is that the number you get before we travel is the number you pay. We would rather ask you two more questions on the phone than surprise you at the door.
- Where the nest is. Reachable from the ground is cheapest. High, inside a cavity, or underground takes longer.
- Which wasp. A European wasp colony needs more care and more protective equipment than a small paper wasp comb.
- How many nests. We will tell you if we find others while we are there, and what each one adds.
- Access. Ladders, roof access and tight cavities take time, and time is most of the cost.
Get your own number, not a range. Quotes are free and fixed.
