What our customers say
Filmed by our customers, not scripted by us.
How does moth control in Melbourne actually work?
The first thing worth knowing is that the moths flying around your room are not the problem. Adult clothes and carpet moths do not feed at all. The damage is done entirely by larvae, so the job is finding where they are feeding and treating that. Larvae want dark and undisturbed, which is why damage shows up at the carpet edge under the skirting, beneath furniture that never moves, on the wardrobe floor and under rugs, rather than in the middle of a room people walk through. The second thing is that there are two completely different moth problems. Carpet and clothes moths eat wool and keratin. Pantry moths eat flour, rice, cereal and pet food, and that job is about removal and cleaning rather than a residual treatment, because nothing goes near food. Call 0436 389 114, seven days.
Get the larvae treated, not the moths you can see.
Carpet moths or pantry moths?
Almost every moth call is one of two problems, and the treatments have essentially nothing in common.
Where you see them tells you which one you have.
- Carpet and clothes moths. Around wardrobes, linen presses, wool carpet and rugs. Larvae eat wool, cashmere, felt and anything with keratin in it. This is the one that damages property.
- Pantry moths. In the dry goods cupboard, with small grubs or webbing in flour, rice, cereal, dried fruit or pet food. Treated by removal and cleaning, never with residual product near food.
- Silverfish are often confused with both, and they do damage paper and fabric too. If that is what you have, we treat those as their own job.
- Not sure? Tell us which room and we will sort it out before we quote.

Moth Control Melbourne: what the job covers
The work goes where larvae feed, which is almost never where the moths are flying.
Finding the source, not the fliers
The moths you see are adults and they do not eat anything. The damage is done by larvae, so the job is finding where those are feeding.
Under and behind furniture
Wardrobe floors, under beds, beneath heavy furniture that never moves, and along the carpet edge under the skirting.
Carpet edges and underlay
Wool carpet is the usual food. The edges, the gripper line and the underlay are where larvae work undisturbed.
Wardrobes and stored clothing
Wool, cashmere and blends, especially anything stored unwashed. We treat the space and tell you what needs laundering or freezing.
Pantry moths treated differently
Dry goods, cupboard voids and shelf runners. Nothing residual goes near food, so this is about removal, cleaning and targeted treatment.
A written report
What species, where the larvae were feeding, and what to change so it does not simply restart.
Source found, larvae treated, advice you can act on.

Carpet moth treatment in a Melbourne home
If you have found bare patches in wool carpet, look at where they are. The pattern tells you almost everything.
Damage appears at the carpet edge under the skirting, beneath a wardrobe, under a bed, behind a long curtain and under a rug that has not been lifted for years. It almost never appears in a doorway or a walkway, because larvae need darkness and stillness to feed.
That is also why people discover it late. By the time furniture gets moved for a clean, the larvae have had months of uninterrupted feeding in exactly the places nobody looks.
- Carpet edges and the gripper line under the skirting.
- Beneath beds, wardrobes and heavy furniture that never moves.
- Under rugs, and the underlay beneath them.
- Behind full length curtains, where wool and stillness meet.
Found a bare patch? Get the edges and underlay checked properly.
From the first holes to a treated house
No surprises, and no price that changes once we are on site.
Tell us what you are seeing
Small moths flying at dusk near a wardrobe points one way. Moths in the pantry when you open a packet points the other.
We identify and find the feeding site
Carpet edges, under furniture, wardrobe floors or the dry goods cupboard. The larvae, not the adults, are the target.
Fixed price before we travel
Quoted on the property and what you describe, unchanged on the day.
Treatment and preparation advice
Treatment where larvae feed, plus clear instructions on what to launder, freeze, vacuum or throw.
Follow up where it is needed
A heavy carpet moth infestation usually needs a second visit once eggs have hatched.
Every step above runs on a fixed price, quoted before we travel.
Moth control cost in Melbourne
Moth jobs vary because a single affected wardrobe and wool carpet through four rooms are very different pieces of work.
You get the number before we travel, based on what you describe, and it does not change once we are there.
- The area affected. One wardrobe, or carpet through several rooms.
- Which moth. A pantry problem is mostly removal and cleaning. Carpet moths need more treatment.
- How long it has run. A season of feeding means more larvae and usually a follow up.
- Access. Furniture that has to come out and carpet edges that have to be reached take time.
Get your own number, not a range. Quotes are free and fixed.
